How does HoldingsIntel measure fund performance?

Accepted Answer

Estimated using quarter-end stock prices applied to each fund's position history. Win rate = % of positions with positive estimated P&L. Avg P&L % = equal-weight average across active positions. Only funds with ≥5 tracked positions with price data are included.

Why is this an estimate?

Accepted Answer

13F filings don't disclose actual transaction prices. Cost basis is built from quarterly position changes using a weighted-average price method. Intra-quarter trades aren't visible. This means our P&L is conservative — fast in-and-out winners are invisible to the methodology.

What's QoQ Return?

Accepted Answer

True quarter-over-quarter portfolio AUM change from the filer's reported 13F values. Includes capital inflows and outflows (a limitation also present in competitor platforms), so a +20% QoQ might mean stock-picking skill or simply new investor capital.
